Architects Chow:Hill needed an affordable, reliable, accessibility compliant elevator for the Trust Waikato Te Puna o Waikato building. It was also important that the elevator complement the building's high-quality décor.
In discussions with Powerglide, they quickly recognised the advantages of the Powerglide remote monitoring system, which gives Powerglide the ability to remotely monitor and control their elevators in emergencies. In addition to providing safety benefits, this helps reduce maintenance costs by eliminating unnecessary call out fees and after-hours monitoring.
Powerglide’s remote lift monitoring benefits both commercial and high-end residential applications by offering full lift system access to Powerglide’s technical team from offsite. With remote access, Powerglide is able to control, monitor, solve and potentially repair or upgrade their system from their Tauranga factory.
If the alarm button is pressed, Powerglide automatically receives an alert message. They respond by logging into the lift, viewing its status, and taking control of it to facilitate the passengers’ safe exit.
Initially, a feature designed to help commercial owners minimise monthly maintenance costs, it has also proved appealing for residential clients who enjoy the added safety and peace of mind this feature provides.
Remote access technology is available on all new Powerglide Elevators and can also be retrofitted to their existing GlideDynamix systems.
