DESIGN FRIENDLY FEATURES

Powerglide elevators have a number of features that ensure they’re easy to integrate into even the most challenging home.

NO CEILING SPACE MACHINERY

The entire lifting mechanism of a Powerglide Elevator fits between the rails, so there is no machinery or wiring above the roof of the lift car.

Benefits:

  • Suitable for all roof lines including skillion roofs

  • Ideal for retrofitting into areas with limited space above the lift

  • No need to strengthen rafters or modify your roof line

MINIMAL PIT DEPTH REQUIRED

Many elevators require very deep pits and holes bored several meters into the ground. Powerglide Elevators have a pit depth requirement of only 300mm, and unless your lift is travelling more than 3.6m there is no requirement for any hole.

Benefits:

  • Can be used for builds near the water-table as there is no risk of water entering the lift shaft

  • Suitable for projects on very hard ground

  • Ideal for retrofitting into an existing building as minimal digging is required

SELF SUPPORTING RAILS

Powerglide Elevators run on low-friction, self-supporting rails which are fixed to the wall of the lift shaft for support only.

Benefits:

  • Eliminates the need for a specially engineered, hard-wearing lift shaft as most of the load is vertical, going straight down into the pit

  • Low friction rail system delivers a very stable ride

REMOTE MACHINERY

The lift machinery of a Powerglide Elevator can be housed up to 12 metres from the lift shaft.

NB: A-Series Elevator machinery must be located next to the lift shaft.

Benefits:

  • Provides additional flexibility in design

  • Ideal when retrofitting an elevator in an existing building with limited space near the lift shaft
